Nectar
Nectar is a loyalty card scheme in the United Kingdom run by Nectar 360 Limited, a company wholly owned by Sainsbury's. The scheme is the largest in the United Kingdom, and comprises several partner companies including Sainsbury's, Esso, Argos and British Airways.
Job positions
I started contracting for Infinity Works to work on the Nectar account as a Senior iOS developer:
- My first project was building a loyalty program integration with a Nectar partner tech team. Afterwards, I worked on gamified campaigns, app themes, architecture, modularisation, and more.
After a year, I took the leadership of the app team (Lead iOS developer). Parallelly, Infinity Works was acquired by Accenture.
- I lead the Sainsbury’s multi-million-user Nectar app team. Having a mix of technical and managerial responsibilities, like fostering a motivational environment for teammates, reducing apps' tech debt while adopting new technologies, building CI/CD automation, managing releases, increasing test coverage, mentoring developers, and working alongside other teams in and outside the company. I lead the Sainsbury’s multi-million-user Nectar app team.
